Charity ball raises more than £17,000 to support children and communities in Kenya
A charity ball has raised more than £17,000 to support vulnerable children and rural communities in Kenya.
The Footprints Family hosted its charity ball at the Pirelli Stadium, the home of Burton Albion FC.
The evening brought together local businesses, individuals and supporters of the charity.
Local businesses provided sponsorship, auction prizes, advertising, and raffle donations.
The Footprints Family was inspired by Burton-based founder Kerry Watson’s visit to Kenya in 2007 where she worked as a volunteer.
Having been moved by her experience, she set up the charity to raise funds that would make a difference in the community.
Kerry said: “These funds will help transform lives through education, nutrition, safety, and long-term empowerment - because when a community stands together, change becomes possible.
“A heartfelt thank you to everyone who supported the event. Your generosity stretches far beyond the evening - it creates footsteps of hope and opportunity for years to come.”
