The chief executive of Midland Mencap has been honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award by The Community Foundation.

It celebrates Dave Rogers’ 40-year career in social care, dedicated to improving the lives of people with learning disabilities and their families across Birmingham.

Throughout his career, Dave has worked tirelessly to ensure that individuals with learning disabilities have access to the opportunities, support, and respect they deserve.

From strengthening community-based services to driving forward initiatives that promote wellbeing, independence, and equality, their contributions have not only transformed Midland Mencap but also influenced wider approaches to social care provision in the city.

According to Dave, the Lifetime Achievement Award is recognition of the values that lie at the heart of Midland Mencap - commitment, inclusion, and the belief that everyone has the right to live a fulfilled and independent life.
