Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is calling on businesses to help spread Christmas cheer among patients, children and families this festive season.

Each year the charity spends over £10,000 on gifts, activities, entertainment, and party supplies to help brighten the festive period for patients and service users across the city.

In December 2025, they provided over 670 gifts for inpatients, as well as providing party supplies, festive activities, and entertainment on the wards, bringing a little sense of comfort and celebration to patients in the winter.

Thanks to corporate support, the charity received donations of over 860 toys, books, activity packs, and selection boxes for children accessing various BCHC children’s services, too.

This allowed teams to provide a small gift to those children whose families may not be otherwise able to provide them, helping to bring a smile to the children and make them feel special at Christmas time.

The presents have also helped those parents who aren’t able to afford gifts for their kids to feel less stressed or guilty over this, improving the festive period for them as well.

Sarah Binks, associate director of charities, said: “Last Christmas, the generosity of our corporate supporters helped us bring moments of happiness to hundreds of patients, children, and families.

“This year, we need businesses to help us do it again. Whether your company can donate gifts, fund festive activities, or rally colleagues behind our appeal, every contribution can create a moment of kindness for someone who may be facing Christmas in hospital, away from home, or experiencing financial hardship.

“Together, we can make Christmas feel special for people who need that kindness most.”
