Charity launches Christmas jumper day
Birmingham women 's and children 's hospital charity is calling on kind hearted supporters and members of the public to pull on their best Christmas sweaters and do their bit in a festive knit on Friday, 9 December for its annual jolly jumper day.
Supporters and staff at the two hospitals will be wearing their Christmas jumpers to spread festive cheer and help make the hospitals magical this Christmas.
To take part, people are encouraged to dig out their favourite Christmas pullover, join with friends, family, schoolmates, or work colleagues, and make a suggested donation of £2.00 each to the hospitals.
By taking part in jolly jumper day for Birmingham children 's hospital charity, supporters will help make the hospital magical for young patients who are too poorly to be at home this Christmas and ensure they and their families can still make precious memories that will last a lifetime.
As one of only two dedicated women 's hospital in the UK and with the largest single-site maternity unit in the country, delivering more than 8,200 babies a year, anyone who chooses to take part in Jolly Jumper Day for Birmingham women 's hospital charity will be supporting the 50,000 women, babies and families the hospital treats every year.
Miranda Williams, head of public fundraising at Birmingham women 's and children 's hospital charity, said: “Jolly jumper day is a fun and easy way to get involved and support our patients and families this Christmas.
“All you have to do is dig out the festive jumper sat at the back of your cupboard and donate whatever you can. Don 't worry if you can 't make it on Friday, 9 December. You can still wear your jolly jumper on a day to suit you, just make sure you tell us when you register your event. ”
Birmingham Women 's and Children 's Hospital Charity is also hoping to see plenty of activity on social media on the day. Supporters are encouraged to post a selfie in their festive knit to any preferred platform using the hashtag #JollyJumperDay and join the trend.
