St Basils Charity has announced that it will be partnering with Solihull’s leading dog training experts, Animal Kind, to launch Woofs 2025.

Taking place in Brueton Park on Sunday 16 March, the event will be a day of fun for dogs and their owners alike.

St Basils is a leading Midlands charity dedicated to preventing homelessness among young people. Through housing, education, and support services, we empower over 4000 young people to build brighter futures every year.

Animal Kind, which has supported St Basils for four years, will be at the event offering free advice to dog owners and running an agility course where dogs can have a go and pick up expert tips along the way. The business is passionate about making dog training accessible to everyone, and their involvement adds another fantastic element to an event designed to bring the community together for a great cause.

Chris from Animal Kind said: “We really enjoy being part of this growing event that gives people new ways to bond and stay fit with their dog. Basic dog agility is for everyone, not just competitors, and running with your dog – called CaniX – is becoming ever more popular. We aim to help participants warm up for Woofs, answer questions, and our courses provide a stepping stone to good all-round dogs who can do anything, anywhere! It’s a fantastic opportunity to have fun with your four-legged friend while supporting a vital local cause.”

Woofs 2025 isn’t just about fun for dogs and their owners; it’s about making a real difference. St Basils runs several accommodation projects in Solihull that allow pets, ensuring young people facing homelessness don’t have to part with their beloved companions. The funds raised from Woofs will go directly into supporting these projects, as well as St Basils’ Solihull Youth Hub, which provides crucial support for young people in crisis.

Barrie Hodge, head of Fundraising and Communications at St Basils, added: “Woofs is more than just a fun day out – it’s a way for the community to come together in the beautiful surroundings of Brueton Park, a place dogs will absolutely love. Homelessness in Solihull is rising, and young people without family support are among those suffering most. Every penny raised at Woofs goes directly back into the community, providing housing and vital support for young people in need. It’s a fantastic way for dog owners to make a real impact while enjoying a great day out.”
