YMCA Burton 's annual fundraiser, The Sleepout, takes place this Friday - and there is still time to sign up to take part.

More than 80 people have so far signed up to take part by sleeping out for the evening at either Burton Albions Pirelli Stadium, St Modwens Church graveyard or virtually at home.

A team of nine from Creative Foods are taking part.

Emma Devitt, the firm 's continuous improvement manager, said: “This is my fourth Sleepout and I am excited to be taking part as part of a bigger team this time.

“We are looking forward to raising money for such a vital charity and believe it will be a very humbling experience. ”

Donna Bowman will be taking part in her fifth Sleepout and this time will be taking part - this time from her garden - alongside eldest daughter Effie, who is nine.

YMCA Burton 's CEO Paul Laffey (pictured), who is taking part in his 14th sleepout, said: “It 's hard to believe where that 14 years have gone but this year, the fundraising is needed more than ever.

“The cost of living has pushed our services to the brink and we are experiencing difficulties in all areas of our charity.

“If you can support the Sleepout, whether that be, taking part, sponsoring someone else or sponsoring a box, please do. ”
