Charity urges for book donations in fundraising effort
Arrive Alive, which funds lifesaving vehicles and equipment, is urging supporters to donate unwanted books in a fundraising effort.
Each book will be recycled and converted into donations to allow the charity to purchase additional lifesaving vehicles and equipment.
An Arrive Alive vehicle can reach a 999 medical emergency in vital seconds and minutes prior to a road or air ambulance due to being directly based within the heart of the community, this results in essential lifesaving treatment being initiated sooner as every second counts.
Lifesaving equipment and vehicles are solely funded by public donations, no funding is given by the government, NHS, ambulance service or national lottery. Our vehicles and equipment have been still operational on the frontline responding to life threatening 999 calls throughout the coronavirus pandemic.
Debbie Roscoe, from the charity, commented: “The Arrive Alive team are thrilled to be helping the environment and helping to save lives with the recycling of books. We are hoping to recycle as many books as possible to help with the launching our first lifesaving vehicle of 2021.
"The Arrive Alive vehicles are still operational during Lockdown attending 999 calls to help with the fight against coronavirus in addition to still attending everyday calls such as cardiac arrests. ”
