Charity working to improve lives of young people in Nechells
A Birmingham charity is improving the lives of young people in Nechells - with the help of some loyal local supporters.
Over 100 Brummies continued to support free@last throughout the pandemic, allowing the charity to provide opportunities to children and young people.
One of the landmark achievements was feeding 1,409 people during the first lockdown in 2020.
As well as helping to provide tasty meals, free@last 's supporters - many of them small businesses - contributed toys, games and Christmas presents to families who were struggling during the Covid-19 crisis.
Many of the charity 's supporters are members of its Club 3000 network.
Members of Club 3000 pledge £10 per month, which allows them to join exclusive gatherings and receive discounts on items from dining out to a celebrity jeweller.
They also receive monthly updates on how their support is helping to change the lives of young people.
John Street, Founder of free@last, said: “Club 3000 was founded with the focus to help free@last become truly funded by our amazing sponsors.
“When we hit 3000 members we will reduce our reliance on grant funding and be able to have greater flexibility in the services we deliver to the community and how we do so. ”
