City conference centre hires new sales and marketing chief
The Birmingham Conference & Events Centre (BCEC) and Holiday Inn Birmingham City Centre has appointed Paula Moran (pictured) as director of sales and marketing.
Paula brings 17 years of experience to her new role.
She began her career as a receptionist at Holiday Inn Express NEC after joining IHG during a gap year.
Originally planning to study Hospitality and Tourism management at university, Paula instead chose to build her career with hands on experience, which has shaped her professional journey.
Her career progressed into senior leadership, spending the past nine years leading sales and marketing for independent venues.
Paula is known for her strategic thinking, innovative approach and her ability to inspire her teams.
In her new role, Paula will oversee the sales and marketing functions at both BCEC and Holiday Inn Birmingham City Centre, focusing on business development, client relationships and positioning the venues as key destinations in Birmingham.
Paula said: "It feels incredibly rewarding to return to IHG, the place where my journey began.
“Birmingham is such a vibrant city and I’m excited to contribute to the continued success and growth of the venues,"
The Birmingham Conference & Events Centre provides cutting edge facilities for conferences, events and exhibitions, located in the heart of Birmingham.
The venue can accommodate from up to 1,000 delegates, making it ideal for both intimate meetings and large-scale events.
The adjacent Holiday Inn Birmingham City Centre, with its newly refurbished bedrooms, is just a minute’s walk from New Street Train Station, offering unmatched convenience for both business and leisure travellers.
Both venues have just been awarded a Silver Accreditation award from Green Tourism, demonstrating their strong commitment to sustainability and eco-friendly practices.
