City signage firm takes on Mount Snowdon for Twins Trust Charity
A dedicated team of signage manufacturer FASTSIGNS Birmingham is set to tackle Mount Snowdon to raise funds for Twins Trust, a charity pivotal in supporting families affected by multiple pregnancies.
Team members undertaking the challenge include Tom Gilpin, Sallyanne West, Ben Wilkins, Meadow Martin, and Amy Warwick.
Tom, the managing director of FASTSIGNS Birmingham, and Sally, business development manager, have a deeply personal connection to this cause.
Last year, their world was turned upside down when they discovered their unborn twins were suffering from Twin to Twin Transfusion Syndrome (TTTS), a condition affecting identical twins sharing a placenta.
TTTS results in uneven blood and nutrient distribution between the twins and is often life-threatening.
Through determination and advanced medical intervention, Tom and Sally’s twins, Lily and Lyla, were successfully treated at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham.
Now a year old, these resilient girls are thriving, but not all families are as fortunate.
Tom said: “Our journey through TTTS was challenging and emotional, but it also highlighted the importance of supporting families in similar situations.
“By climbing Mount Snowdon, we hope to give back some of the blessings we received and help other families face their challenges with hope and resilience.”
Twins Trust plays a crucial role by funding research, providing family support, and improving outcomes for multiple pregnancies.
The funds raised by the FASTSIGNS Birmingham team will contribute to continued advancements and assistance, ensuring more families receive the help they need in times of crisis.
