Civil engineering contractor appoints ESG manager
Civil engineering contractor Alpha Construction Ltd has reinforced its commitment to sustainable and responsible business practices with the appointment of its first Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) manager.
Graham Aspinall (pictured) joins the Derbyshire-headquartered firm with over 15 years of experience in environmental management.
He has already begun developing initiatives to reduce Alpha’s environmental and carbon footprint, expand social value delivery, and enhance supply chain accountability.
Alpha says Graham is also focused on aligning the business with national frameworks such as PAS 2080 and the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Managing director Anthony Bamford said: “We have always taken our responsibilities seriously, but now we are raising the bar and setting new standards.
“Graham’s role strengthens our ability to deliver not just quality infrastructure, but meaningful long-term value, environmentally, socially, and ethically.
“It is an investment in the future of our company and the communities in which we work.”
This appointment builds on Alpha’s recent growth, including securing a place on National Grid’s Civils Framework and launching plans for a new low-carbon headquarters in South Derbyshire.
