College backs Chamber leadership campaign
A further education college has become the second organisation to sponsor a major leadership and people management campaign organised by Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce.
BMet College is backing the month-long Growth Through People Campaign, which concludes with a conference on 30 March.
BMet has a wealth of experience in delivering training and development programmes and is also a huge advocate for our students, championing the young people across the region, and equipping them with the skills, knowledge and attitude for the workplace.
Growth Through People aims to improve leadership and people management skills by encouraging the adoption of best practice approaches to leadership and people management.
Delegates can book their places now for the Chamber 's second annual Growth Through People conference, as well as being able to take advantage of a series of expert-led webinars, thought leadership blogs, videos and a mini series on the Chamber podcast channel.
The 30 March conference - which is being delivered online - will feature inspirational keynote speakers, high-profile panellists and practical workshops on topical leadership and people management challenges following the impacts of Brexit and Covid-19.
It will also provide an opportunity to network with other local leaders, managers and decision makers from businesses looking to grow through the adoption of new, best-practice ideas.
Both the conference and virtual events are free for Chamber members. Conference tickets are £15 for non-members.
BMet College will join the University of Birmingham 's Work Inclusivity Research Centre (WIRC) as headline sponsors of the campaign.
In 2020, Growth Through People was adapted so that it could be delivered online due to the pandemic.
Around 400 delegates attended events, webinars and the inaugural conference.
Digital thought leadership, advice and guidance published as part of the campaign received 3.1million impressions on Twitter.
Suzie Branch-Haddow (pictured), vice principal - external development at BMet College, said: “With people at the very heart of everything we do, we are exceptionally excited to be working with the Chamber on this year 's Growth Through People Campaign.
“We are looking forward to the opportunity to understand more about how we can support firms across the regional economy to develop their workforce as we grow our way to recovery.
“The Chamber virtual networking sessions will be a fabulous way to catch up with old friends and to introduce ourselves, and indeed the regional Further Education sector, to new ones. ”
Chamber chief executive Paul Faulkner said: “We are delighted to announce that BMet College will be a headline sponsor of the Chamber 's Growth Through People campaign this year.
“BMet 's expertise in professional development and work championing Birmingham 's particularly young population will offer fantastic insights to the campaign as we explore key themes around accessing and engaging talent in these challenging times.
“Full details of Growth Through People 's practical webinars and virtual conference are on the Chamber website and I highly encourage interested readers to book their places now. ”
