College celebrates outstanding Level 3 results

South Staffordshire College is celebrating student achievements after a successful Level 3 results day with a pass rate of 93.57 per cent.

Out of the high pass rate, 23.05 per cent of students has excelled by achieving top-tier grades, including A, A*, Distinction*, and Triple Distinction which is an increase of 4.55 per cent compared to last academic year.

In addition to this, 38 qualifications out of a total of 71 qualifications (53.52 per cent) achieved a 100 per cent pass rate compared to 51.47 per cent in 23/24.

Kirk Hookham, deputy CEO of South Staffordshire College said: “These results are a testament to the dedication of our students and the outstanding support from our teaching teams.

“With over half of our courses achieving a 100 per cent pass rate and a rise in top-grade achievements, we’re incredibly proud of what our learners have accomplished.”

Arboriculture student, Billy Brooker achieved a Triple Distinction. He said: “Returning to college as an adult learner was the best thing I could have done.

“I have gone from lacking direction, working a dead end job and feeling unfulfilled to having a passion for looking after and understanding trees, gaining necessary skills and qualifications and working for a professional arb team.”

Dog Grooming student, Nicola Russell-Donnellan who achieved a Distinction, said: “I’m absolutely buzzing with my results this morning. I have been awarded a Distinction.

“Along with being awarded Level 3 student of the year. I’ve achieved things I really thought were not possible at my age.

“Who said ‘you can’t teach an old dog, new tricks’. I’ve had an amazing time studying at Rodbaston College. Thank you to everyone at Rodbaston that has made this possible”.

Game Art and Animation student, Veronica Smirnova (pictured) achieved a distinction. She said: “I am so happy with the progress that I have made over my time at South Staffordshire College – it has been truly amazing and I couldn’t have asked for anything better.

“I am so excited to soon be continuing developing my skills to the highest they can be at University of Staffordshire studying Game Art!”
