Learners looking for post-16 courses have one final opportunity to meet teachers at Solihull Sixth Form College, when the final Open Evening of the 2022/23 academic year takes place on Monday 23 January 2023.

Doors will open at the Widney Manor Road campus from 5pm to 8pm next month and tickets are available for timed-entry from Eventbrite through the College website at https://www.solihullsfc.ac.uk//open-days/.

The event is a ticket-only affair and all prospective learners must be accompanied by a parent, carer or other adult.

Teachers and current learners from all curriculum areas will be available to talk to visitors about the colleges range of A level, BTEC and T level courses on offer and answer questions.

This includes the new Technical Level course in Education & Childcare, which is launching in September 2023. With open events having already taken place in October and November, this event is the last chance for visitors to get the expert advice of teachers before the application deadline on 31 March 2023.

Also at the Open Evening, Principal Dr Martin Sullivan will be delivering talks throughout the evening (at 5:30pm, 6:15pm and 7pm) to give learners, as well as parents and carers, an insight into the values of Solihull Sixth Form College.

Support staff and the Student Council will be on hand to talk to visitors about the support services offered, including careers guidance, academic coaching, additional learning support, application support, student welfare and financial help. Representatives from five universities will also be present, providing an opportunity to discuss what Higher Education options are open to learners after they have completed their A level, BTEC or T Level studies.

College Principal Dr Martin Sullivan said: "We have seen huge interest in Solihull Sixth Form College so far this year, with large numbers of visitors at our October and November open events. Visiting our campus is the best way for learners and carers to see what we offer and our style of learning, so I urge anyone who has not yet visited us to take advantage of this final open evening. The November open evening “sold out ”, so booking early is advised."

The full range of A level, BTEC and T level courses, as well as information on their entry requirements and how to apply, is available on the college 's website at www.solihullsfc.ac.uk.
