College records fundraising success

Staff and students at Solihull Sixth Form College have been raising money for charity by supporting Macmillan 's World 's Biggest Coffee Morning.

£132 was raised by selling cakes and bakes in the College Refectory and Staff Room and the student development officers worked hard to ensure a great selection of delicious treats were available.

This event has been going on for many years with all funds raised going to a charity that supports those battling cancer, including end of life care and support for families.

Associate pripncipal Anisa Lokat-Fanning said: “We 're only a few weeks into a new term, but it 's great to see staff and students coming together to support those less fortunate than themselves. Our Student Development Team worked their socks off to ensure the event was a success and the money raised should make a real difference to those affected by cancer. ”
