Commonwealth Chamber president joins panel on diversity
Joel Blake, president of Greater Birmingham Commonwealth Chamber of Commerce, will be joining Solihull Chamber executive committee member Susie Ankrett, of Plum Personnel during a webinar exploring equality and diversity.
The webinar, taking place on 25 March, is part of a series with Equality, Diversity and Inclusion and organisers say it will be of particular interest to HR professionals, managers and business leaders who are considering the impact of some of the sensitive issues that have come under the spotlight particularly over the last year.
Baljit Kaur of Innate Consultancy will be joining the panel discussion, bringing more than a decade 's worth of experience helping companies design diverse workforce 's and inclusive cultures to achieve excellence in employee attraction, engagement and retention.
Also joining the panel is Emily Williams, an expert in psychometric assessments, who will discuss how behavioural assessments can help unlock potential, help remove biases and can result in attracting and retaining a more diverse and inclusive environment.
Susie Ankrett, director of Plum Personnel, said: “As we move towards people returning to the workplace, many are seeking guidance as how to respond to some of the sensitive issues raised particular in the last 12-months and especially the impact of unconscious bias.
“Whilst there are no 'quick fixes ' the good news is that there are simple and practical changes that individuals and organisations can make - that can make a real and positive difference. ”
