Comms agency set for growth

A communications agency is on course for further growth this year on the back of a series of client wins.

Communications agency Osborn, set up by Chris Leggett (pictured), was launched during the pandemic to support businesses as they rebuild.

Chris was previously director of marketing and communications for news publisher Midland News Association, part of the Claverley Group and whose leading media outlets include Express & Star and Shropshire Star.

As well as delivering a series of PR and marketing projects the business has taken on for retained clients, the agency has plans for further growth this year.

Leading skills development company WELL Training is the latest organisation to use the agency's services.

Osborn will provide marketing and PR support for WELL 's ambitious growth plans which will see them provide digital and classroom-based learning for a range of leading brands across the UK and worldwide.

Chairperson Paul Kennedy said: “We are pleased to benefit from the communications support of Osborn as WELL grows its national and international client portfolio. ”

Drawing upon Chris ' national and digital experience, Osborn is growing its client roster by providing content and communications support aimed at small-to-medium sized enterprises and family-owned businesses, all looking to grow revenues or present themselves more effectively to target audiences.

The highlights of last autumn for Birmingham-based Osborn included the successful launch of the Walsall Leather Skills Centre, set up to train young people in the Black Country town renowned for its saddle making, which generated coverage ranging from local BBC through to appearances in Horse & Hound and The Field, as well as a visit from West Midlands Mayor Andy Street.

Chris said: “Given the challenges faced by everyone due to Covid-19, including businesses, I am delighted so many companies have engaged with Osborn and put their trust in us to help them engage with target audiences. It is a pleasure to work with a variety of customers, from historic groups like the Worshipful Company of Saddlers, through to young digital businesses and established family firms.

“Osborn offers practical support and delivers demonstrable impact for clients. Companies still have positive news stories to share and continue to want support to reach their target audiences, which gives confidence that further growth can be delivered in the year ahead. ”

Chris draws upon 25 years ' media experience, having worked as a senior editor at a national and regional level. He was previously an online journalist for the BBC News website in London and an editor on ITV Teletext, having worked as a reporter in London.

Chris added: “Clients want the confidence of working with a partner agency with national and regional media experience, as well as insights on digital and traditional channels. I look forward to engaging with new customers and shaping further success for them despite the difficult times. ”
