Communications agency surprises Birmingham 2022 baton bearer’s family
International integrated communications agency, Liquid, has presented the family of a Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games baton bearer with a special framed poster, celebrating the legacy of the games.
To mark the anniversary of the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games back in July, Liquid and Birmingham City Council undertook an ambitious project to design and install a series of 36 striking posters in Victoria Square, Birmingham, in just seven days.
The posters encapsulated the diverse range of experiences and triumphs that unfolded during the Games, combining imagery and text to convey the pride, unity and spirit that defined the Games.
One subject of the artwork was CJ Lloyd Webley – local social entrepreneur and Birmingham 2022 baton bearer – whose mother, Lorraine, saw the poster of her son and contacted Liquid for a copy of the artwork.
In the weeks following, the Liquid team worked with CJ to arrange a special surprise for his mother, inviting her to meet the project team in the Liquid office, enjoy some cake, and present her with a framed print of her son’s poster.
Speaking of the surprise, Lorraine said: “Seeing the poster of CJ outside Birmingham Town Hall filled me with pride and the Liquid team has gone above and beyond to gift me this incredible surprise, as well as treating me to refreshments and a splendid cake.
“I extend my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who played a role in creating this unforgettable day. Your kindness and love towards me and my family will forever remain in my heart.”
Liquid CEO, Elisabeth Lewis-Jones (pictured), added: “It was a pleasure to host CJ and Lorraine in our office and to surprise Lorraine with a special reminder of her son’s involvement in the Games.
“We take great pride in giving back to the local community and it was lovely to see how the actions of the team brought such happiness to CJ and Lorraine.”
