Community sports day aims to bring Birmingham business community together
The Birmingham Voluntary Service Council (BVSC) is inviting businesses to attend a community sports day to meet with community organisations in the city.
The event, taking place on Thursday, 4 June, will be held at Pitch2Progress grounds at Porters Way, Birmingham. It is hosted by Pitch2Progress with the Birmingham Business & Community Partnership.
Businesses are encouraged to register up to three people and community organisations are encouraged to register up to two people to compete. Public sector organisations are also welcomed.
Each business will be matched with another to compete as a mixed team of five during the sports day.
Activities during the day will include a water challenge (weather permitting), an egg-and-spoon/sack race remix, an archery challenge, a puzzle and riddle challenge, a relay challenge, and a team photo/social challenge bonus round, with full details to be confirmed.
Networking with businesses and community organisations will also be included.
The event is free for everyone in the community to enjoy.
A representative of Pitch2Progress, said: “We’re excited to launch Compete 4 Community as a unique opportunity to bring businesses and the community together through sport, team building, and meaningful connection.
“The event is about more than competition, it’s about building relationships, creating partnerships, and investing in the next generation of young leaders.
“Through this event, businesses will directly support our leadership programmes, helping young people develop confidence, employability, life skills, and digital skills to prepare them for positive futures.”
