Coopers Square set to fundraise for Burton charity during Christmas
The Coopers Square shopping centre will be raising funds for YMCA Burton during Christmas through a host of family-friendly events, including the return of Santa’s Grotto and Crafts with Mrs Claus.
Santa will be welcoming visitors on December 6, 13, and 20. Coopers Square has supported Burton YMCA for the past three years, with a dedicated collection box located in the centre for shoppers wishing to contribute.
Last year’s grotto raised over £1,000 for local causes.
Paula Senior, Fundraising & Partnerships Manager at YMCA Burton, said: "We are delighted and humbled to be this year’s chosen Charity for this magical and special Christmas initiative.
“Our main centre Reconnect is open 24/7, 365 days a year and we impact over 12,000 people every year in our community.
“We are a lifeline for many. Thank you for supporting us this year so that we can continue to provide help to those who need it during times of crisis."
Festive celebrations will begin early on Friday 29 November with an exclusive appearance from the Elf on the Shelf, giving families the chance to meet the mischievous character and enjoy photo opportunities before he begins his December adventures.
Coopers Square Shopping Centre also welcomed its newest retailer this weekend, with Optical People officially opening its doors to Burton shoppers.
The launch marks the first of two exciting new additions to the centre this month, with jewellery specialists F.Hinds set to open soon.
