Corporate partner joins law firm’s Birmingham office
Squire Patton Boggs has appointed Partho Chaudhuri as a partner in its Corporate Practice Group in Birmingham.
With over 14 years’ experience as a corporate lawyer, Mr Chaudhuri – who joins from Deloitte - has a track record for handling high value and complex domestic and international transactions.
He advises on all stages of domestic and cross-border M&A transactions, from pre-deal structuring, restructuring, carve-outs through to transaction negotiations and post-merger integration.
Tony Reed, head of Corporate EMEA at Squire Patton Boggs, said: “With high-level transactional experience and a reputation for delivering excellent client service, Partho will fit in well.
“His collaborative approach to developing business will help us strengthen existing relationships and bring new opportunities to the firm.”
Tom Durrant, Birmingham office managing partner, added: “Partho’s appointment forms part of our investment in our presence in the Midlands and underlines our commitment to clients looking for best in class corporate advice whether they are doing business at a regional, national or international level.”
Mr Chaudhuri joins one of the fastest growing Corporate Practices in the Midlands.
Over the past year, the team has completed nearly 60 deals out of the Birmingham office with a value of £3.8 billion.
These include acquisitions for UK and international corporates, investments for private equity sponsors, and sales for founders and entrepreneurs to UK and international buyers.
The firm is shortlisted for Corporate Law Firm of the Year at the upcoming Midlands Dealmakers Awards.
“The opportunity to join Squire Patton Boggs is hugely exciting,” said Mr Chaudhuri.
“The growth of the firm’s Corporate Practice and its investment in Birmingham makes it an attractive home for me. I look forward to working with my talented colleagues in this office and across the firm in support of our clients.”
He is the latest partner to join the firm in Birmingham following the arrival of Ellie Pinnells and Victoria Callicott last year.
