Council back Chamber micro business award

Lichfield District Council have announced their support for a major awards dinner hosted by the Chamber next year.

The council will sponsor the Lichfield and Tamworth Micro Business of the Year Award at the Sutton Coldfield, Lichfield & Tamworth and Cannock Chase Chambers of Commerce annual dinner and awards.

The awards dinner is taking place on Friday 3 February at Drayton Manor Hotel.

Businesses and individuals from across the four areas will be recognised on the night through 10 awards categories.

The council joins headline sponsor Amazon, Lichfield & Tamworth President's Award sponsor Fruition Accountancy and Large Business of the Year sponsor GMK House Business and Events Centre in supporting the event.

Leader of Lichfield District Council, Councillor Doug Pullen (pictured), said: “Next February 's awards are an important opportunity to recognise the achievements of businesses across the Lichfield, Sutton Coldfield, Tamworth and Cannock Chase area.

“We are delighted to be sponsoring the Lichfield and Tamworth Micro Business Award category.

“There are many, many fantastic small businesses across Lichfield and Tamworth that have flourished despite the difficulties of the past few years.

“They have done so through tenacity and ingenuity and awards such as these help to highlight their success. ”

Ten category awards will be handed out on the night. The categories are:

  • Sutton Coldfield Micro Business of the Year
  • Lichfield and Tamworth Micro Business of the Year (sponsored by Lichfield District Council)
  • Cannock Chase Micro Business of the Year
  • Sutton Coldfield Small Business of the Year
  • Lichfield Small Business of the Year (sponsored by Crown Highways)
  • Tamworth Small Business of the Year
  • Cannock Chase Small Business of the Year
  • Sutton Coldfield, Lichfield & Tamworth and Cannock Chase Large Business of the Year (sponsored by GMK House Business and Events Centre)
  • Sutton Coldfield, Lichfield & Tamworth and Cannock Chase Young Professional of the Year
