Staffordshire County Council is urging all employers to encourage uptake of the Covid-19 vaccination among their staff.

Vaccine take up is being encouraged across England, following the government's announcement that it will be pressing ahead with its fourth stage of its roadmap out of lockdown plan, whereby remaining Covid legal limits will be lifted on 19 July.

In a bid to continue to protect people against Covid, the council is urging firms to promote a positive vaccination message and support maximum uptake among employees by:

  • Sharing online booking information to all employees aged 18 or over
  • Alternatively, your staff can call 119 free of charge if unable to book online and speak to a translator if required.
  • Be as flexible as possible when it comes to staff getting the vaccine, which could include giving paid time off work for employees to attend their vaccination appointment.

The council is also advocating that businesses continue workplace testing, using check-in QR codes, hand hygiene and ventilation measures.

Testing twice a week increases the chances of detecting Covid-19 when a person is infectious, tracing their close contacts and reducing the risk of them spreading to other colleagues and people.
