Council housing team nominated for national award

Cannock Chase Council’s Housing and Building Safety team has been shortlisted for a national award.

The team has been nominated for Safety and Compliance Team of the Year at the ASCP Awards 2026, hosted by the Association of Safety Compliance Professionals.

The awards recognise teams that demonstrate outstanding achievements in collaboration, innovation, dedication to high standards, and a strong commitment to improving safety outcomes for residents.

This nomination highlights the exceptional work carried out by the Housing, Building Safety team, including a successful collaboration on a team expansion project, continuous improvement of processes, strong perseverance in the face of challenging circumstances and consistently high performance against key performance indicators.

Councillor Rhys Mandry, portfolio leader for Housing and Corporate Assets, said: “I am incredibly proud of our Housing, Building Safety team for this well-deserved national recognition.

“Their dedication to ensuring residents feel safe in their homes, alongside their commitment to continuous improvement and teamwork, truly reflects the values we strive for at Cannock Chase Council.

“Being shortlisted is a fantastic achievement in itself, and I wish them every success at the awards.”

The awards ceremony will take place on 8 September, at the International Convention Centre (ICC) in Newport, where the team will join other leading organisations from across the sector.
