Counsellor offers free stress webinar ahead of National Stress Awareness Day
Sharon McCormick, clinical director of The Listening Centre, is hosting a free virtual masterclass to help working professionals understand stress from a trauma-informed perspective.
The 60-minute session, Why Your Stress Makes Sense, explores the biology behind stress, why some people’s systems run hotter than others, and practical strategies for working with stress rather than against it.
McCormick (pictured), cited by BBC Radio 4 as delivering “gold standard” ethical practice, has been invited to contribute to the national Commission for the Future of Counselling and Psychotherapy in 2026.
The webinar is taking place on 4 November (3pm to 4pm).
“Most stress advice tells you to fight your stress or push through it,” says McCormick, a BACP Accredited counsellor with 24 years’ experience.
“But your stress response isn’t a flaw - it’s your nervous system doing its job. Once you understand that, everything changes.”
