CPiO strengthens data expertise with appointment of senior Power BI consultant
CPiO has announced the appointment of Duncan Boyne (pictured) as senior Power BI consultant, where he will lead the company’s data visualisation and Microsoft Power BI strategy.
Duncan has extensive experience in data analytics, ERP systems, and the Microsoft Power Platform.
Renowned for his ability to translate complex data into actionable insights, he bridges the gap between technology and tangible business outcomes.
His areas of expertise include Power BI report design, DAX and data modelling, SQL performance tuning, Power Platform integration (Power Automate, Power Apps, Dataverse), and ERP analytics with Sage 200, Dynamics 365, and Infor Visual.
Throughout his career, Duncan has developed a strong reputation for collaboration, process improvement, and agile delivery.
His innovative solutions have enabled organisations to boost efficiency, visibility, and strategic decision-making through scalable and intelligent reporting frameworks.
Before joining CPiO, Duncan held senior roles in data and application development, leading major Power BI and ERP optimisation initiatives that delivered measurable business value.
A certified Microsoft Power Platform Fundamentals professional, Duncan is also an active community leader.
As co-founder and organiser of the Norfolk Power Platform User Group and the East of England Power Platform Summit, he has played a key role in fostering collaboration, sharing knowledge, and strengthening the regional Power Platform community.
He is a frequent speaker at user groups and conferences across the UK and has been nominated for the Microsoft MVP Award for his contributions to the Power BI and Power Platform ecosystem.
“Data should empower, not overwhelm,” Duncan explained. “At CPiO, I’m excited to help organisations see their data differently- turning it from something technical into a clear story that supports better decisions every day.”
In his new role, Duncan will focus on building robust data models, impactful dashboards, and integrated reporting solutions. Whether connecting Power BI to ERP systems such as Sage 200, Sage X3, and Sage Intacct, or developing custom dashboards that address specific business questions, he aims to ensure data serves people—not the other way around.
“We are thrilled to welcome Duncan to CPiO,” said Andrew Watkinson, managing director at CPiO.
“His expertise in the Microsoft Power Platform, combined with his storytelling approach to data, will be a tremendous asset. Duncan’s ability to turn complex information into clear insights will deliver significant value to our clients.”
Duncan’s appointment marks an exciting new chapter for CPiO’s data team and reinforces the company’s position as a trusted Microsoft Partner dedicated to helping businesses unlock the full potential of their data.
