Curium Solutions partners with charity to build haven for critically ill children
Birmingham-based Curium Solutions UK has joined forces with West Midland charity Kids’ Village in a major boost to plans to provide the first purpose-built holiday village for children with critical illnesses and their families.
The new collaboration underscores Curium's commitment to social responsibility and community engagement.
Katrina Cooke, CEO of Kids’ Village charity, said: “We are entering an exciting next phase of our capital fundraising project and are looking for enthusiastic, local volunteers to join our fundraising activity and join us at a range of events across the West Midlands.
“This is an opportunity to make a difference and be part of the legacy of Kids' Village and our sprint to raise the funds, build Kids' Village and start supporting children living with critical illness and families in need.”
Kids’ Village, inspired by the experience of childhood cancer survivor Sam Fletcher-Goodwin, is on a mission to raise £5 million to establish a sanctuary where families can find rest and create cherished memories away from the challenges of hospital life.
To date, the charity has impressively raised £1.8 million, thanks to the generosity of corporate sponsors and supporters.
Significant strides have been made in bringing this vision to life. The charity has secured a 30-acre site near Wychnor, Staffordshire, and has successfully navigated the planning permission process.
The planned development includes ten four-bedroom lodges and a central facility known as 'The Hive,' designed to accommodate around 500 families annually.
In a recent meeting with Curium, Kat from Kids’ Village emphasised the crucial role of corporate partnerships.
"We want to keep it simple; this project can't work without the support of corporate sponsors, and we're so grateful for those getting involved in building this legacy."
Curium Solutions continues to support Kids’ Village through fundraising initiatives and by leveraging its network to spread awareness about the remarkable cause.
Andy Dawson, director at Curium Solutions, said: “The team behind Kids’ Village have done a fantastic job to get it to this point.
“Now is the time for businesses across the region to get behind them and make this a reality for the families who deserve to be looked after.
“We will be doing our bit to help, and I’m sure the business community will rise to the challenge.
“We are looking forward to getting stuck in and are testing ourselves to find innovative ways of partnering with Kat and the team in the months ahead.”
The journey to build Kids’ Village is well underway, but continued support is essential to reach the £5 million goal.
