A Rugeley firm that has set the standard for customer service in the IT and cybersecurity services industry is the Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce Business of the Year 2026.

Techcare has earned plaudits for delivering industry-leading response times and customer care – with one client describing their service as “well beyond what you pay for”.

The company picked up the Chamber’s overall Greater Birmingham Business of the Year award in front of 1,000 guests at the ICC in central Birmingham, after winning the Customer Commitment category.

Techcare has built a reputation for transparency and honesty – with all helpdesk statistics published monthly to build trust with customers.

Over the past 12 months, the team has achieved an average email response time of 16 minutes for customer queries and an average ticket resolution time of 64 minutes.

They also answered 84 per cent of phone calls within 15 seconds and achieved an average customer satisfaction score of 4.85 out of 5 across 210 responses.

These industry-leading statistics have led to a 100 per cent customer retention rate for the second year in a row.

Techcare also supports a host of community and charity initiatives, including sponsorship of Chasetown Football Club and Lichfield Ladies Rugby Club, as well as fundraising for Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

Success at the GBCC Awards follows a string of accolades including Cannock Chase Small Business of the Year in 2025 and a listing in NextGen’s 50 Best Managed IT Companies in 2024.

The GBCC awards were hosted by broadcaster Amber Sandhu. Headline sponsors were Birmingham City University and Elonex.

Entertainment was provided by West Midlands Circus Centre, while global retailer Harvey Norman was the table décor sponsor.
