Cutlery manufacturer’s general manager celebrates 40-year work anniversary
Cutlery manufacturer Arthur Price has celebrated an incredible team member milestone - the 40th work anniversary of general manager Ian Nilsen.
Ian originally worked in engineering before deciding he wanted a change in direction.
He joined the Arthur Price ranks in 1986 as an assistant in the production department.
He quickly rose through the ranks and has been responsible for delivering everything from million-piece orders to royal commissions for over two decades.
Ian said: “I am very fortunate to enjoy my job and the people around me. Every day is different; you just never know what you may need to make or deliver.
“And in a fast-paced environment, having a good team around you is vital and I have the privilege to have worked with great people for four decades.
“That’s because Arthur Price really is a family. It’s a cliché but it’s true. I’ve seen many changes over my forty years but the one thing that is constant is the friendly workplace.”
Chairman Simon Price said: “Ian is a vital part of our business, liked by colleagues and respected by customers with vast experience and expertise.
“As a family-owned business, the next generation is vital to our success. Ian has seen my father’s time, my time and now James’s.
“As times have changed his skill and knowledge have too developed which to me shows an amazing aptitude and ability. I am privileged to have him as part of my team.”
