Dedicated street warden appointed across Edgbaston estate
Calthorpe Estates is reinforcing its commitment to safe, welcoming and well-managed public spaces with the introduction of a dedicated street warden.
The warden will serve commercial areas across Edgbaston Village, Pebble Mill and Edgbaston Mill.
Street Warden ‘Bos’ began patrols ahead of Christmas and is now a familiar and highly visible presence across Edgbaston Village, Pebble Mill and Edgbaston Mill.
Operating on foot and from a clearly liveried vehicle Monday to Friday, his role is centred on visibility, reassurance and early intervention.
Working alongside comprehensive CCTV monitoring and professional security partners, Watch Security, he provides a clear deterrent to anti-social behaviour, identifies and reports environmental or security concerns, offers practical support and reassurance to occupiers and visitors, and works closely with estate management and security teams to ensure coordinated and responsive action where needed.
Richard Suart, property director at Calthorpe Estates, said: “Delivering safer, more confident streets is central to our long-term vision for Edgbaston. We want everyone who works, visits or spends time here to feel secure and supported.
“The introduction of a dedicated Street Warden adds a highly visible and approachable presence to our existing security measures. Initially as a 12-month trial, it reflects our continued investment in the quality, safety and experience of our commercial destinations. We look forward to gathering feedback as the service evolves.”
