Dental practice raises awareness of specialist modern dental care
A Solihull specialist dental practice is raising awareness of the importance of modern dental care for patients who feel anxious about treatment.
Shiraz Endodontic Practice, based on Warwick Road in Solihull, takes a specialist approach in helping anxious patients feel more comfortable accessing advanced dental care.
The dental practice is encouraging patients not to postpone treatment due to fear or uncertainty about specialist dentistry.
Research suggests around a third of adults experience some level of dental anxiety, meaning many people delay or avoid treatment altogether.
The Practice recently received the Best Treatment of Nervous Patients (Midlands) award at the Private Dentistry Awards.
Practice principal and specialist endodontist Dr Nida Kamal (pictured) says dental anxiety remains one of the biggest barriers preventing people from seeking treatment.
Dr Nida said: “Many of the patients referred to us arrive feeling extremely anxious or worried about root canal treatment.
In reality, modern dentistry has changed significantly. With the right technology, communication and preparation, treatments that patients fear are often far more comfortable and predictable than they expect.”
She added: “Helping anxious patients often begins before treatment even starts. Clear communication, careful planning and giving patients time to feel comfortable can make a significant difference to their experience.”
Shiraz Endodontic Practice works closely with referring dentists across Solihull, Birmingham and the wider Midlands to help patients retain their natural teeth wherever possible.
Modern diagnostic technology, including CBCT 3D imaging, allows clinicians to assess complex anatomy and plan treatment with greater precision, helping reduce uncertainty for both patients and referring dentists.
The practice has grown into a five-surgery specialist referral centre and brings together clinicians in endodontics, periodontics and oral surgery, allowing patients to receive advanced care under one roof.
Alongside clinical treatment, the team also works to raise awareness of the importance of oral health in overall wellbeing, particularly among people who may have avoided dental care for many years due to anxiety.
