Designers invent storage solution aimed at bike lovers

Specialist bike storage designers, BikeStow, have announced the release of their newest invention BikeStow Up- an efficient bike storage solution born out of necessity.

The BikeStow Up is lovingly manufactured in-house in Stourbridge, UK, from CNC routed birch plywood, before being hand-finished and partially assembled. The brushed aluminium 'v ' sliders are laser cut locally and hand-brushed just outside of Birmingham 's historic Jewellery Quarter.

This is BikeStow 's second bike rack solution, having launched the BikeStow Original almost three years ago. Equally, the Original was also conceived to solve a personal problem, after co-founder and father Simon Laight grew frustrated when transporting bikes inside his new van.

Their newest product BikeStow Up was designed by BikeStow co-founder and son George Laight, having lived in small university accommodation for the last few years.

After much headache, he realised his need for a freestanding, space-efficient and non-damaging vertical bike rack. So, over a year ago he started working on the BikeStow Up.

It became clear that storing a bike vertically used the least floor space, however George couldn 't even put blu-tack on the walls, let alone wall hooks. At risk of losing his room deposit, George instead set about designing a solution.
