Disabled children’s charity launches volunteering drive for festive period
Newlife, the Charity for Disabled Drive, is urging people to join as volunteers during the festive period.
By volunteering for Newlife, people can help disabled children receive vital specialist equipment during a busy retail season.
The charity is looking for support in their stores and warehouse teams where hundreds of high street retailers donate stock, including end-of-line items. Newlife then processes and sells it in nine stores and online, funding equipment and support for disabled children and their families.
Before Christmas, local businesses can give their time through a Corporate Volunteer Day at a Newlife store or warehouse. Teams can get involved, create local social impact and support disabled children and their families.
Each store can welcome different size groups and timings are flexible based on requirements of the team.
A statement from the charity said: “Volunteering can strengthen employee engagement, confidence and teamwork while supporting corporate social responsibility (CSR), environmental, social and governance (ESG), or community goals.
“Every hour donated helps us raise vital funds and reach more families who need Newlife’s support. It’s a simple but powerful way for your colleagues to connect, contribute and make a lasting difference for disabled children.
“Whether you have a few hours, a day or more to give through October to December, your time can make a huge difference to the life of a disabled child and their family”
Teams can book dates throughout October, November and December through the website to give back before Christmas. For more information, call 01543 431450 or email volunteer@newlifecharity.co.uk
