Members of the Asian Business Chamber of Commerce are invited to celebrate Diwali - the festival of lights - by attending a business networking event with the theme Spark to Start at Birmingham City Football Club.

The event, taking place on 23 October, is sponsored by Barclays Bank.

Diwali celebrates the victory of good over evil and light over darkness and is a time of year when families, friends and communities come together in a spirit of celebration and joy. It is an important celebration among Hindus, Sikhs and Jains.

The event attracts a wide range of businesses from across the region and Asian communities providing an excellent opportunity to make new contacts and meet potential suppliers/customers, raise business profiles, develop existing business relationships and share ideas and experiences.

Dr Rupa Parmar, a private GP and a medical director at Midland Health will be on the panel of speakers – with more speakers set to be announced soon.

Dr Parmar established Midland Health as a private pay as you go healthcare brand in Birmingham in 2018.

With over 20 years of experience as a doctor, she has knowledge of a wide variety of medical conditions and presentations.  She was a GP Partner for over 10 years in the NHS.

Dr Rupa also has extensive experience as a medical director, having established and overseen a large corporate private GP service in the heart of Birmingham city centre.

Midland Health now has 4 clinics across the Midlands with over 60 specialists and Private GPs.

This event is free for all ABCC members, with two delegates allowed per company. Additional tickets can be purchased at £30 plus VAT.

Speaking about the event, ABCC co-presidents Neelam Afzal and Sapreena Kumari said: “Diwali is one of the most significant celebrations in our calendar – a time to reflect on the values of light, hope and togetherness.

“Our annual Diwali networking event brings those values into the business community, creating opportunities for members to connect, collaborate and celebrate.

“We’re delighted to welcome Barclays Bank as our headline sponsor this year, and look forward to an inspiring evening of networking and cultural celebration with businesses from across the region.”

Tickets are priced at £30 plus VAT for Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce members and £15 plus VAT for Future Faces members.

Non member price is £60 plus VAT.

Exhibition stands are also available during the event with the ability to sell products and services, add the company logo and profile in the delegate pack while reaching out to new contacts.

The cost of exhibiting is £250 plus VAT for members and £300 plus VAT for non-members.
