Finance team sets the pace in Great Birmingham Run
Teamwork and community spirit were in full force last weekend, as EFG Harris Allday took on the AJ Bell Great Birmingham Run – the Midlands largest running event, raising awareness of behalf of their chosen charity, The King’s Trust.
The King’s Trust (formerly known as The Prince’s Trust) help those aged 16-30 to develop the skills they need to live, learn and earn. Their educational programmes assist young people in building their confidence, starting work, and even establishing their own successful businesses – with the additional support of a mentor and funding.
To date, the Trust have helped to support over 1.4million young people.
Starting in Centenary Square, five of EFG Harris Allday's colleagues joined the half marathon, with Liam Shelton achieving the fastest time in 01:31:05. Two of the EFG Harris Allday team participated in the 10k, taking on the challenge of their first ever race whilst fundraising for the Trust.
Chris Ronan, assistant director, said: “The team really committed to their goals, with a great sense of camaraderie. We are proud to raise money for The King’s Trust, who provide such essential support for young people, helping them to grow through education, find employment and boost entrepreneurship in Birmingham and across the country.”
With the support of EFG Harris Allday's friends and family, they said they are proud to have so far raised over £900 for The King’s Trust.
