Energy consultancy reaches new milestone in mission to donate £1 million to charity
T150 Energy, an independent energy and utilities consultancy based in Rugeley, has reached £798,940 in its mission to donate a £1million to organisations in the care, education and charity sectors.
The consultancy, which won the SLTC Business of the Year award, donates part of its own commission back to the organisation at the end of the contract. It comes from T150's commission, not the client's savings.
The organisation receives it irrespective of the cost and can spend the funds however they like.
Recently, one faith organisation recovered £53,145 after T150 identified VAT that had been charged incorrectly over a number of years.
Reductions to capacity (kVA) charges are saving two organisations £22,640 a year between them. Many of these issues can be corrected while an organisation stays with its existing supplier.
Businesses outside the care, education and charity sectors can take part through the Impact Scheme, where T150 donates part of its commission to a charity of the client's choosing. Impact donations count toward the Million Pound Mission.
T150 also introduced the Payback Exchange this year, a series of events bringing local charities, care providers and schools together with businesses that can offer time, expertise, funding or charity-of-the-year support.
Matthew Small, founder of T150 Energy, said: “Nobody in a school, a care home or a charity is employed to manage energy contracts.
“It gets added to someone's day, on top of the job they were hired for. We start with an analysis of what they're paying and why, and only then talk about contracts."
Organisations can send their latest energy bills to energy@T150Energy.co.uk. T150 will come back with what they're paying, what's wrong with it and what it should be.
