Environmental services firm unveils festive campaign with Age UK
Legionella and Fire Safe Services (LFS), an environmental safety firm with branches in Rugeley and Lichfield, has announced the launch of a heartwarming Christmas Donation Campaign.
‘Stockings for Smiles’, carried out in partnership with Age UK Staffordshire aims to bring joy and warmth to the lives of elderly residents in the community during the holiday season.
The ‘Stockings for Smiles’ campaign is born out of a desire to make a difference by reaching out to the elderly who may be experiencing loneliness during this festive time.
Partnering with Age UK Staffordshire, a renowned charity supporting individuals over 50 in Staffordshire for over 25 years, adds depth and purpose to this initiative.
Age UK Staffordshire is a registered charity engaging with people over the age of 50 years who have lived in Staffordshire for over 25 years. The charity offers a variety of support, including day opportunities for people living with dementia and other complex needs, in a welcoming, relaxed, and friendly atmosphere.
The holiday season can be particularly challenging for many, especially the elderly. Loneliness and isolation are prevalent issues that affect their well-being. ‘Stockings for Smiles’ is an effort to remind them that they are loved, valued, and not forgotten.
LFS has invited customers and local businesses to join hands in making a positive impact.
Donations of small gifts, puzzles, books, or small gadgets are sought to fill the festive stockings. These items will provide entertainment and enjoyment for the elderly during the Christmas period.
Participants are urged to drop their contributions at LFS Lichfield office, and local businesses are encouraged to set up their own collection points.
All donations will be collected by the LFS team and delivered to Age UK Staffordshire for distribution.
The firm has also urged the public to share the campaign on social media using the hashtag #StockingsofSmiles to raise awareness and encourage contributions.
Karen Leighton, head of care improvement at Age UK Staffordshire said: We are very grateful to LFS for the wonderful campaign for Christmas, 'Stockings for Smiles.'
It will bring so many smiles to our community, and we are eagerly looking forward to their visit to our day care centres in December, where these stockings will be handed out by the Company's Elves. Such a heartwarming and caring thing to do."
LFS managing director Steve Morris said: "No one should feel alone at Christmas, and when our business manager Kym approached me with this idea, I immediately said yes!
“I feel strongly about helping the local community, and this way, other businesses in the local area can join us in bringing some joy to people who truly need to feel cared for at Christmas time."
