The Burton & District Chamber of Commerce has announced Burton and South Derbyshire College (BSDC) as an events partner for the upcoming Business in Burton event.

The free-to-attend will take place on Wednesday, 18 November at Branston Golf & Country Club from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm. It is set to bring local businesses for a day of exhibiting, networking and seminars, with all proceeds being donated to Kids’ Village charity.

Exhibitor stands are free of charge with exhibitors invited to make a £20 donation on arrival to Kids’ Village, Burton & District Chamber’s Charity of the Year.

BSDC offer a wide range of full and part time courses, from basic entry level programmes, right through to degree level qualifications.

They are also a corporate member of the Chartered Institute for Further Education, a mark of excellence which recognises quality in the areas of governance, leadership, professional development, teaching practice and community impact.

Higher Education learners have their own University Centre; vocational learners enjoy learning in real world specialist facilities while catering and beauty students benefits from a commercial restaurant and a salon.

Recently, BSDC secured up to £4.9 million from the Department for Education's Post-16 Capacity Fund following a competitive national bidding process.

It will support the expansion of BSDC’s estate, creating additional teaching facilities that will help meet the rising demand for post-16 education, while enhancing the college’s high-quality academic, technical and professional offer.

Amrit Virk (pictured), assistant principal - Marketing, Business Development and International, said: “Burton and South Derbyshire College is proud to work alongside employers, businesses and community partners who share our commitment to developing skills and creating opportunities for growth.

“Through collaboration, we can help equip our communities with the technical, professional and employability skills needed for the future, while building a skilled workforce and thriving business community that supports long term economic success across our region.”
