Event showcases support programmes for ambitious Tamworth firms
Tamworth businesses and start-ups are being urged to attend a free information event in the town next month to help them realise their ambitions.
Hosted by the Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire Growth Hub and Tamworth Borough Council, the breakfast Business Support Launch Event will provide insights on support programmes available from a range of organisations.
The event takes place on Wednesday February 7, from 8am to 10am at Tamworth Assembly Rooms.
Schemes such as Staffordshire County Council’s Get Started and Grow will be featured, giving new enterprises expert advice and guidance on everything needed to make a start-up success – including HR, accountancy, legal advice, website support and branding.
The Staffordshire Ignite programme provides young potential entrepreneurs (16 to 18-year-olds) with support to start their own business.
Areas of support to be showcased at the event include taking on apprenticeships, skills and development opportunities, networking events and workshops, business mentoring, working with charities as well as funded business advice and assistance.
Light breakfast and refreshments will be provided and people can register on the event webpage.
Staffordshire County Council’s deputy leader and cabinet member for economy and skills Philip White (pictured) said: “There’s a fantastic support package for new and small businesses that the county council and our partner organisations have built up in recent years.
“It’s a shared priority to us to give small businesses the backing they need – especially in those challenging early years. In Staffordshire we have a strong record for start-up survival and that’s something we’re working to maintain.
“I’d urge businesses owners in Tamworth, or those thinking of starting up, to attend this free breakfast event. It could make the difference in overcoming barriers and gaining confidence to help them reach full potential.”
