Industry experts will be briefing businesses on how to minimise cyber security breaches, during a webinar being hosted by Greater Birmingham and Solihull Local Enterprise Partnership (GBSLEP) Growth Hub.
The Growth Hub hosting the Be cyber smart: Double lock your business 's door event alongside the West Midlands Cyber Resilience Centre on 5 May from 12pm.
Hinesh Mehta, head of Cyber and Innovation at the Cyber Resilience Centre and Detective Inspector, currently seconded from the Regional Cyber Crime Unit, will be speaking during the event.
Small and medium sized enterprises, microbusinesses and sole traders are being urged to attend the event, which will cover minimising the risk of a cyber-attack, understanding and preventing online risks, and enhancing business reputation by protecting suppliers and customer 's data.
Ian McLaughlin (pictured), director at GBSLEP Growth Hub, said: “ “There has never been a more important time for businesses to get clued up cyber security, especially with remote working and the general digitisation of many business processes.
“Cyber criminals have become more adept at exploiting any vulnerabilities and our event is designed to both raise awareness of the main threats and provide practical tips on minimising risks to keep business 's and their customers ' systems and data safe. ”
