Event to discuss report on impact of Covid-19 on Gen Z
Insight agency Beatfreeks has launched a report to understand how covid-19 continues to affect young people in the West Midlands.
The report, titled 'Young People in the West Midlands', captures Gen Z 's perspectives on Employment, Money and Social responsibility. They provide organisations, businesses and individuals guidance on responding to the needs of our younger generations.
Economically, over 37,000 18 to 24-year-olds in the West Midlands are currently out of work (as of September 2021) and research suggests that many are concerned about the pandemic having damaged their career prospects.
BMET and Beetfreaks are holding a free event to discuss the findings of the report called 'Covid-19, it 's impact on young people, communities, and careers '. The event will be held in collaboration with BMet College and will be hosted at their Matthew Boulton Campus.
The event will involve a panel discussion where the author of the report and insight manager at BeatFreeks, Fabio Thomas (pictured), will discuss the findings of the report. Joining him are representatives from the regional business community who will share their insights on how we can work collectively to support this generation of young people.
Chairing the event is Suzie Branch-Haddow, vice principal of the college who leads commercial engagement and income diversification activity.
Alongside Suzie and Fabio are speakers Afzal Hussain, co-founder and director of West Midlands urban community homes, Henrietta Lyttle-Breukelaar, director of economic strategy at GBSLEP, Jayne Licari, head of brand and external comms at BNP Paribas Personal Finance; and Raj Kandola, head of policy at GBCC.
The event takes place on Tuesday 2 November at BMet College, Matthew Boulton Campus, B4 7PS.
