Ex-political editor star guest at Press Club lunch

Nigel Morris, former political editor of the Daily Mirror, The Independent and the I newspaper, was guest speaker at Birmingham Press Club 's first celebrity luncheon held since the start of the Covid-19 outbreak.

A former Birmingham Post political correspondent, Nigel discussed his 30-year journalistic career in a Q&A session with Press Club president Bob Warman before being was installed as an Honorary Life Member of the Press Club and being presented with the club 's traditional bugle, crafted by world-famous Birmingham-based Acme Whistles.

Amazon UK sponsored the event, which was held at Park Regis Birmingham, recent winner of the Best UK Hotel accolade at the 2021 awards organised by Meeting & Incentive Travel magazine.

Media sector guests were joined by Andy Street, the mayor of the West Midlands, Ninder Johal, Deputy Lieutenant West Midlands, Tim Andrews, MBE and Kay Alexander, MBE.
