Expert project manager joins housing developer

Solihull-based Living Space Housing has expanded its construction team with the appointment of Martin Gaffney as a project manager to head up delivery of its flagship Malvern Oaks development in Herefordshire.

Martin (pictured) joins Living Space from St. Modwen Homes, where he was a project manager for a number of high-profile residential schemes in the West Midlands and London.

Before that he was a project manager for Birmingham-based Seddon Construction, where he delivered care homes, schools and commercial property schemes. He has accrued over 30 years ' experience in the industry, having also previously worked for Balfour Beatty, Frank Haslam Milan and Lovell Partnerships.

Martin has won LABC Built in Quality Awards and was a finalist in the CIOB 's Construction Manager of the Year competition in 2017.

On his appointment, Martin said: “I am really pleased to join Living Space and get stuck in with the delivery of the final phase of Malvern Oaks in Herefordshire. The team is very supportive and it is clear to see the potential for career progression, given how rapidly the business is expanding. ”

Malvern Oaks is a six-acre development site featuring 32 homes being delivered on behalf of Stonewater for affordable rent and shared ownership, together with 19 open market properties.
