Experts talk music impact on culture at Chamber event
Industry experts will discuss how music is promoting a positive message on culture and diversity in Birmingham, during a virtual event taking place next week.
Asian Business Chamber of Commerce patrons, Aston University, are sponsoring and hosting the Culture Exchange: Diversity, Culture and Enterprise online on 23 February, as part of Commonwealth Opportunities week.
Greater Birmingham Commonwealth Chamber of Commerce (GBCCC) is gearing up to host its first Commonwealth Opportunities week, starting from Monday, 22 February, which aims to boost trading links with Commonwealth countries.
The Culture Exchange session is the second event as part of the themed week, culminating in an online, all-day conference on 25 February.
The virtual event Aston are hosting will explore Birmingham's music scene, and how the city's links to the Commonwealth through the music industry can be capitalised on.
A panel discussion on the topic will be a part of the event.
Panellists include executive director of business and regional engagement at Aston, Mark Smith was joined by Aston academic, Dr Patrycja Rozbicka, chief executive of Punch Records, Ammo Talwar (pictured), founder of Ifa-Yoruba Arts Trust, Lekan Babolola and director of Aston 's centre for research in Ethnic Minority Entrepreneurship.
The event is free to attend for members and non-members of the Chamber.
