Faith-based business network builds on Lego to spark fresh thinking
A faith-based business networking group in Sutton Coldfield has used Lego Serious Play to help firms rethink their strategies.
The Faith Works event is hosted every two months by Neil Kearsley of Endecay Professional Development Ltd for Christian business owners and professionals.
September’s meeting featured an hour-long workshop led by Helen Walker of Mayhew Walker Consulting.
Delegates were first challenged to build the best duck from just six bricks, before constructing a model of their own business to tell its story and show where it is heading.
The events are held at Acacia Family Support in Sutton Coldfield, the Royal Sutton Coldfield Chamber of Commerce’s charity of the year.
Acting director Becky Douglas-Jones joined the session and said: “Acacia has been going through some changes recently and this excellent session allowed me to think very differently and far more creatively about our direction and purpose.”
Helen Walker said: “It was wonderful to see the Faith Works networking community embrace Lego Serious Play.
“Building a model of their business gave everyone the opportunity to share their story and see their business from a different perspective.
“It is about more than building with bricks. It is about creating the space for meaningful conversations, fresh thinking and stronger connections.”
Neil, who first met Helen at a Chamber networking event, said: “It was really good of Helen to come and demonstrate Lego Serious Play for us.
“I know the delegates found it really engaging and took a lot from it. This really shows the importance of business connections built in this way.”
The next Faith Works event takes place at 9.30am on Monday 19 October. Tickets cost £5, with all proceeds donated to Acacia Family Support. Booking is essential via Eventbrite.
