A jam-packed family fun day is being hosted by a Birmingham charity at a four-star city hotel to raise funds to support local organisations.

LoveBrum. the official charity partner of the Edgbaston Park Hotel and Conference Centre, part of the University of Birmingham group, have joined forces to organise their first event together.

The LoveBrum family fun day is packed with free activities including a bouncy castle and toddlers soft play, while Bright Vision Expectational Events is providing inflatables and giant games for the event taking place 12pm - 6pm this Sunday.

There will also be a magician, stilt walkers and face painters in the grounds of the hotel 's Hornton Grange off Edgbaston Park Road.

LoveBrum raises and distributes funds to hidden-gem projects and volunteer-led organisations in Birmingham.

Two organisations that have benefitted from LoveBrum 's funding will also be performing at the fun day.

The first, The Wellbeing Community Choir, promotes and maintains good mental and physical health through singing. The second, Bellagio Dance Group, is a dance company in the city that focus on all styles of dance for all ages. Notably, it has performed as part of the Queen 's Platinum Jubilee celebrations in Victoria Square.

Chefs from the hotel will be providing tasty treats for a BBQ such as hot dogs, king prawn kebabs, beef burgers and chargrilled Mediterranean vegetables and halloumi.

Kathryn Simkiss, head of operations at LoveBrum, said the family fun day would be a great opportunity to celebrate the summer and raise funds for worthwhile causes throughout Birmingham.

She said: “This is our first official event with the Edgbaston Park Hotel and we are really looking forward to a day that is packed with activities for all the family to enjoy.

“We are half-way through the summer holidays and it can be difficult to think of somewhere different to go at weekends.

“Tickets for children aged under 16 are free and there is an optional £5 per adult donation for LoveBrum on the day, but this will include a food and drinks voucher, as well as entry into our raffle to win some great prizes which have been donated by Barclays.

“We hope as many families will come along as possible to enjoy a really fun day out and raise funds for LoveBrum - and there will also be some surprises on the day! ”

Richard Metcalfe, chief executive officer at Edgbaston Park Hotel and Conference Centre, said amazing local causes in Birmingham would benefit from all the proceeds from the day.

He said: “We are really excited about our charity partnership with LoveBrum and a great deal of thought and attention has been spent on organising our first event, ” he said.

“There will be exceptional entertainment and fabulous food for families to enjoy - and the weather forecast is even predicting sun!

“We are also inviting our hotel team with their friends and family to celebrate together post-Commonwealth Games to thank them for all their hard work.

“I 'm sure everyone will be joining in with the singing with the Wellbeing Community Choir and shaking a few moves to the Bellagio Dance Group - and these are two great examples of the organisations that LoveBrum has supported. ”
