FareShare Midlands benefits from new partnership following Great Birmingham Run success
Media Plus Connect has announced a new charitable partnership with FareShare Midlands, kicking things off in style as its team laced up for the AJ Birmingham Run.
The Birmingham-based media planning and buying agency - part of the global Mediaplus Group - entered four runners in this year’s event.
Together, they raised £1,141 for FareShare Midlands, the region’s largest food redistribution charity.
Building on that momentum, Mediaplus Connect has pledged to donate towards FareShare Midlands' Big Give Winter Appeal 2026, helping the charity support communities across the Midlands during the most challenging months of the year.
FareShare Midlands rescues good quality surplus food and redistributes it to 650 charities and community organisations across the region, helping to feed around 60,000 people every week.
The charity also delivers employability, training and volunteering programmes designed to help people build confidence, skills and brighter futures.
Penny Took, CEO of Mediaplus Connect, said: “FareShare Midlands not only supports thousands of people experiencing food insecurity each week across the Midlands but also provides training and employability help.
“As an IPA Platinum CPD agency, personal development is hugely important to us, and Mediaplus Connect is incredibly proud to be working with a local charity which benefits so many people in so many ways.”
Simone Connolly, CEO of FareShare Midlands, said: “We're delighted to welcome Mediaplus Connect as a partner.
“Their team's brilliant effort at the Great Birmingham Run and their generous pledge to our Big Give Winter Appeal will make a real difference to families across the Midlands.
“It means a great deal when a local business gets behind our mission with this much energy, and we're excited to see what we can achieve together.”
