Fast-growing accountants reveal four partner promotions
Leading audit, accountancy, tax, and advisory firm Bishop Fleming has announced four partner promotions as the firm continues to grow across the West Midlands and South West.
Christian Crawford, Richard Newton and Chris Trantham have each been promoted to partner in Bishop Fleming’s audit team while Ben Herbert has been promoted to tax partner, demonstrating the significant growth in the firm’s service offerings.
Each has progressed their career at the firm over a number of years, in particular Ben - who joined in 2005 as a graduate trainee - and Chris - who joined in 2009 as a newly qualified accountant. Richard and Christian joined the firm in 2013 and 2018 respectively.
Bishop Fleming’s latest promotions underscore the firm’s ongoing growth trajectory and commitment to nurturing talent, following yet another year of impressive double-digit revenue gains.
With income approaching £50 million in 2025, the firm continues to cement its reputation as one of the region’s fastest-expanding professional services providers.
Joe Scaife, head of Service Lines, said: “I am so pleased to welcome Christian, Ben, Richard and Chris to the partnership. We have seen audit revenues increase by at least 20 per cent in each of the last four years and each of our newly promoted partners is eager to bring their individual areas of expertise to drive our ambitious growth in the market.
“Bishop Fleming specialises in supporting owner-managed businesses, and Richard’s experience advising business owners will enable us to enhance our mid-market offering.
“Christian, who is head of the firm’s hospitality and leisure sector, also has ambitions to expand the firm’s offering to owner-managed businesses, with a particular interest in environmental and ESG issues.
“Separately, Chris has already established himself as one of the firm’s leading experts in the academy sector and is eager to lead and support the team to maintain Bishop Fleming’s national reputation as the number one auditor for academies.
“While Ben, who is based in our newly refurbished Exeter office, is strategically placed to support the growth of our tax offering in the region.
“With another strong year underway, bolstered by this latest round of promotions, the firm is on track for similar results, further solidifying our position as one of the region’s leading audit providers.”
