A wide array of festive fun – including music, cabaret and comedy - is on the way for Christmas revellers at the Hub at St Mary’s in Lichfield.

The musical treats start with ‘A Holly Dolly Christmas’ – a tribute to Dolly Parton full of her best known hits and festive favourites (25 Nov).

The show will be followed by ‘It’s Starting to Look a Lot Like Christmas!’ as ‘Sunday Acoustic Lounge’ makes a welcome return to The Hub on 26 Nov while ‘Sunday Jazz’ (3 Dec) will be full of festive tunes and wintry Jazz Standards from the Nick Dewhurst Trio.

A Hub spokesman said: “If folk is more your thing, then you won’t want to miss out on ‘Familiarity: An Evening of Warming Winter Folk’ (8 & 9 Dec), a stripped back acoustic concert-cum-theatre from Lichfield favourites, Let Me In.

“It will be a welcome return to The Hub for the excellent Highly Strung Quartet with ‘Seasonal Strings’ (10 Dec). There’ll be excerpts from The Nutcracker, The Snowman, Frozen and Ravel’s Bolero plus plenty of Christmas Carols and popular Christmas pop hits.

“The Hub’s very own ‘Inspire Choir’ (14 & 15 Dec) will be feeding your spirit with soul-soothing, uplifting and exquisite music, including a few festive treats, and the ‘John Rutter Quartet’ will be along on 17 Dec bringing you an hour of his popular works with some well-known classics and festive favourites.”

Meanwhile Christmas party animals are being urged to join live band, Ruby Bridge for a ‘Christmas Party Night’ on December 22.

The Hub spokesman added: “Comedy and cabaret are also on our Christmas list as the sell-out ‘Alter Comedy Club’ returns to The Hub on 6 Dec for another evening of relaxed vibes and top-notch comedy from some of the UK’s best award-winning acts including Catherine Bohart and Will Robbins.

“Très Très Cabaret’, the show that’s the talk of the town is back (16 Dec), with a special performance to tickle your festive fancy and our boozy bingo night, ‘#BingoHun’ (23 Dec) will take you right up to Christmas with an evening of fun, frolics and bingo mayhem.

“For some Christmas shopping ideas, come along to The Hub Little Shop for our ‘Maker’s Mini Market’ on Saturday 16 Dec 10 am to 3 pm. Featuring a number of our regular sellers plus some new local crafters and makers; there’ll be a great selection of gift items. You can also enjoy coffee, cake and the Amington Brass Band who will be popping by with some jolly Christmas music.”

Further details and tickets for all events can be found from the website.

The Hub creative director, Anthony Evans said: ‘We can’t wait to unwrap all of these Christmas goodies - there’s always a little something for everyone at The Hub and Christmas is no exception. Have a happy, ‘Hubby’ Christmas!’
