Financial consultant launches free seminar on evaluating performance and refining pricing
James Meyrick, founder of JCWT Consulting, will host a free seminar covering key topics of evaluating performance, pricing, and targets.
It takes place on Thursday, 20 November (10 am to 12 pm) at STEAMhouse on Cardigan Street in Birmingham.
The event will feature two-hour interactive session including examples, breakout discussions, and hands-on planning activities.
Key topics covered include:
- Why a financial plan still matters – Using plans as a live roadmap rather than a static document
- When and how to review financial performance – Monthly and quarterly reviews that highlight progress and early warning signs
- Re-planning vs corrective action – What to adjust, what to change and how to turn data into decisions
- Margins and pricing strategy – Understanding gross margins, allocating fixed costs and exploring tactics like loss leaders, tiered and value-based pricing
- Profitability vs growth – How to balance reinvestment with stability and cashflow
- Performance tools and templates – Simple dashboards and KPIs
By the end of the session, participants will be able to understand the ongoing role of a financial plan in long-term success, review performance confidently and identify areas for improvement, know when to re-plan vs take corrective action, apply practical margin and pricing strategies for profit growth, and use clear, simple tools to measure results and guide future decisions
James Meyrick (pictured) has an international experience of 15 years in business banking and finance, including projects with major banks and fast moving FinTech.
He is now working hands on with SMEs, startups, and sole traders to help them plan, grow, and solve financial challenges, especially those without a dedicated finance team.
James said: “Small business owners are often told to ‘know their numbers’, but very few are shown how to turn those numbers into real decisions.
“This session at STEAMhouse will focus on giving practical, plain-English tools that help founders and sole traders understand performance, refine their pricing, and plan with confidence.
“CreaTech Frontiers has created an incredible platform for sharing that kind of practical innovation, and I’m proud to be part of it.”
The seminar has been facilitated by CreaTech Frontiers, a 5-year £7.2 million project funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC).
